Templates

A template answers the questions you would otherwise answer for every new profile: which system it imitates, which connection it takes, what it opens with and where it is filed.

What a template sets

Open Templates in the sidebar and press New Template, or select a template and choose Edit….

General
Name of the template, Profile name prefix for the profiles made from it, their Folder and Tags.
System
Platform — Random, Windows, macOS or Linux: the system the new profiles report. Language — the language they report; leave it empty for the default. Match connection location — take the language and time zone from the country of the profile’s connection. Automatic user agent — let the app write the User-Agent, so it always names the real browser version.
Connection
Proxy or VPN: Direct Connection, Automatic built-in proxy (Pro and Team) or one of your saved connections.
Startup
Reopen last session and Pages to open.
Fingerprint protection
How strongly new profiles protect Canvas, Audio, Fonts, WebGL and WebRTC. Available on Pro and Team; on Free the defaults are used. What each protection does is in Fingerprint settings.

Note. A template is applied when a profile is created. Changing a template changes the profiles made after that; the ones that already exist stay as they are.

The Standard template

Every workspace starts with a template named Standard. It cannot be edited or deleted: it follows the app’s settings — for instance, whether new profiles get a built-in proxy, which is Automatic proxies in Settings › Connections.

The default template

New Profile uses the default template. To change which one that is, select a template and press Set as Default; the Default column shows the current one.

Create profiles from a template

  • On the Templates page: select a template and press New Profile.
  • On the Profiles page: the arrow beside New Profile › New from Template.
  • In Create Multiple Profiles…: choose it in the Template field — see Create many at once.

Delete a template

Select it and choose Delete…. The profiles that were made from it are not touched.
