DocumentationProfiles
Workspaces, folders and tags
Ten profiles need no system. A few hundred do. Liminal gives you three levels of order — workspaces, folders and tags — and a list you can search, filter and act on in bulk.
Workspaces
A workspace is a separate set of everything: its own profiles, connections, saved accounts, folders and tags. Use one per client, per project or per kind of work. You see one workspace at a time; the picker at the top of the sidebar switches between them.
- New Workspace
- Creates an empty workspace. The Free plan holds 2 workspaces; Pro and Team have no limit.
- Rename Workspace…
- Changes the name.
- Delete Workspace…
- Deletes the workspace with its profiles — the app asks first and names what goes with it. The default workspace cannot be deleted.
Note. Switching workspaces closes the profiles that are running in the one you leave; the app asks first.
Folders
Folders group profiles inside a workspace and appear as branches of the tree in the sidebar.
- Create: the arrow beside New Profile › New Folder.
- Fill: drag profiles from the table onto a folder in the sidebar, or use Move To in the profile’s menu, or the Folder field in Profile Settings.
- Rename or delete: right-click the folder in the sidebar — Rename Folder, Delete Folder. Deleting a folder does not delete its profiles: they move to the top level of the workspace.
Search
The search field in the toolbar looks through more than names. A profile is found by its name, its ID, the name, address or country of its connection, the name of its saved account, and its tags. When the match is not in the name, the row shows what matched.
Filters
Filters in the toolbar narrows the list; several filters work together.
| Filter | Values |
|---|---|
| Status | Running, stopped, opening, failed |
| Connection | With a proxy, or on a direct connection |
| Country | The country of the connection |
| Connection Status | Working, failed, unchecked |
| Source | Built-in or your own connection |
| Folder | Any folder of the workspace |
| Tags | Any tag, or no tags at all |
| Health | Ready, or with a warning |
The line under the table says how many profiles are shown and how many filters are on; Reset clears them.
Columns and sorting
The table starts with Profile, Status, Connection, Account, Fingerprint, Tags and Last Opened. Right-click the header to show the hidden ones — Folder, Country, Health, ID — or to hide what you do not need. The table sorts by Profile, Status, Connection, Account, Fingerprint and Health: click the header. Column widths are remembered.
Working on a selection
Select several profiles — with Shift or the system’s multi-select key — and the menu acts on all of them: open, close, move, set or clear the connection, check it, tag, delete. Profile Settings then shows how many are selected and lets you set the Folder and Tags of all of them at once.
A long operation shows its progress in the line under the table, with Cancel while it runs and Retry for what failed.
Tip. In a table, Return opens the selected profile, Delete deletes the selection and Esc clears it.
