Is Liminal really free? What's the catch?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The free plan has no profile cap: unlimited profiles, generated fingerprints, full isolation, and proxy binding, with no card and no trial clock. Manual fingerprint editing, cloud sync, profile sharing, and team roles are on the paid plans — that is how the free plan is paid for. Everything listed above stays free.

Will websites detect that I'm using an antidetect browser?

Liminal is built on real Chromium — not an emulator. The TLS fingerprint, the JavaScript APIs, and the browser's behavior are those of Chrome, and the built-in validator checks that a profile's fingerprint parameters are coherent with each other and with its proxy. No browser can promise that a given site will never flag a given account: detection also depends on your proxy, your account history, and how you use it. What Liminal controls is the browser identity, and it keeps that consistent.

How do fingerprints work? Are they unique for each profile?

Each profile gets a complete digital identity — User-Agent, screen resolution, WebGL renderer, Canvas, Audio context, fonts, timezone, and language. All parameters are automatically matched to look like a real device. Fingerprints are deterministic: the same profile always produces the same fingerprint, so websites see consistent behavior across sessions.

Can I use my own proxies? What types are supported?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Liminal supports HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS4, and SOCKS5 proxies — including residential, mobile, and datacenter. You can also run profiles without a proxy using your system IP. Import proxy lists in bulk, auto-check IP and location, and assign proxies per profile. Timezone and language sync automatically to match the proxy GEO.

Where is my data stored? Do you have access to my accounts?

Accepted Answer

What a running profile holds — history, saved passwords, open tabs, cache, extensions — stays on your device. We never receive it. On the paid plans your catalog does sync so a second machine can pick it up: profiles, folders, workspaces, proxies, saved accounts, and app settings. Cookies you import onto an account card travel with that card; their values, like proxy passwords, are encrypted before they are stored. On the free plan nothing syncs at all.

What platforms are supported?

Liminal runs natively on macOS (Apple Silicon) and Windows (ARM64). Linux is not supported yet. Syncing your profiles, proxies, and accounts between machines is available on the paid plans; browser data does not travel with them.

Question 7

Can I import cookies or profiles from another browser?

Accepted Answer

You can import cookies in JSON or Netscape format — paste or upload them onto the profile's account card, review what was parsed, and start working. Exporting cookies back out of Liminal is in development. Coming from another antidetect browser: export your cookies there, import them here, assign a proxy. Profiles themselves are not imported yet.

Question 8

Can my team share profiles without sharing passwords?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Share profiles with teammates using role-based access — they get full session access without seeing raw cookies or credentials. Roles are Owner, Admin, Member and Viewer, and a workspace carries its profiles, proxies and accounts to everyone in it. A shared activity log and profile notes are in development.

Question 9

How many profiles can I run at once?

Accepted Answer

As many as your hardware allows. Each profile runs in an isolated process, so performance depends on your CPU and RAM. Profiles are launched from one window, so there is no per-profile app to start. We have not published a measured figure for profiles per machine yet.
