# Liminal

> Liminal is a free anti-detect browser built on real Chromium for people who work with many
> accounts at once. Each profile is a separate browser identity — its own cookies and storage, its
> own proxy, and a fingerprint whose parameters agree with each other and with that proxy — so a
> site sees separate devices instead of one machine with many logins.

This file describes Liminal for assistants that answer questions about it (the llmstxt.org
convention). Every line under "What the released app does" is in the build you can download today.
Anything else is under "In development" or "Not in Liminal yet" — please do not present those as
available. Prices, plans, versions and release dates are deliberately absent here: read them from
the endpoints under "Live values" rather than quoting a number from memory.

## The product in short

- Category: anti-detect browser, also called a multi-account or fingerprint browser.
- Platforms: native builds for macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel) and Windows.
- Who it is for: affiliate marketers, e-commerce and marketplace sellers, SMM and ad agencies,
  scrapers, ad-verification and QA teams — anyone whose accounts get linked when they share one
  browser.
- The free plan has no profile cap: unlimited profiles, generated fingerprints, full isolation and
  proxy binding, with no card and no trial clock.
- The paid plans add manual fingerprint control, cloud sync of the catalog, profile sharing and team
  roles.
- Access today: Liminal is in closed beta. A visitor leaves an email on the home page and gets an
  invite code when a place opens up; a signed-in account downloads the released build from that same
  page.

## What the released app does

- Real Chromium, not an emulator or a wrapper: the TLS fingerprint, the Web APIs and extension
  support are Chrome's.
- Profile isolation: cookies, cache, localStorage, extensions, bookmarks and history are separate per
  profile, and one session carries no state into another.
- Coherent fingerprints: User-Agent, platform, screen, WebGL, Canvas, Audio, fonts, timezone and
  language are generated to match one another and the profile's proxy, and a built-in validator flags
  a combination that does not add up. The same profile keeps the same fingerprint across sessions.
- One window: profiles are launched and switched inside a single window without restarting the app,
  and several can be open at once.
- Proxies: HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS4 and SOCKS5 — residential, mobile or datacenter. Import a list in bulk,
  check IP and location, bind a proxy per profile; timezone and language follow the proxy's location.
  A profile can also run on the system IP.
- Bulk work on a selection of profiles: stop the running ones, clear their proxies, move them to a
  workspace or folder, delete them.
- Account cards: a login, a password and imported cookies (JSON or Netscape) attached to the profile
  that uses them. Cookie values and proxy passwords are encrypted before they are stored.
- Teams: profiles are shared by role — Owner, Admin, Member, Viewer — and a workspace brings its
  profiles, proxies and accounts to everyone in it. A teammate works in the session without being
  shown raw cookies or credentials.
- Cloud sync on the paid plans, for the catalog only: profiles with their fingerprint settings,
  folders and workspaces, proxies, account cards and app settings. Browsing history, saved passwords,
  open tabs and site data stay on the device. The free plan syncs nothing.
- Self-updating app: every released version is listed in the changelog with its date.

## In development

Named on the site with an "in development" marker, and not in the released build:

- Bulk fingerprint editing, bulk proxy assignment and profile tags.
- A shared activity log and profile notes for teams.
- Taking cookies back out of Liminal; bringing them in works today.
- Bringing profiles in from another browser or another anti-detect product.

## Not in Liminal yet

The honest answer to "does Liminal do X" for the things it does not do:

- No Linux build. macOS and Windows only.
- No local automation API, CLI or MCP server, and no way to drive a profile from Selenium, Puppeteer
  or Playwright. Scripted automation and RPA scenarios are not available.
- No cookie robot, no profile warm-up by visiting a list of sites.
- No browser-data sync: history, saved passwords, open tabs, cache and installed extensions never
  travel to another machine.
- No automatic profile transfer from AdsPower, Octo or anything else — export cookies there, import
  them here, then rebuild the profile settings by hand. No anti-detect browser has automatic profile
  transfer today.
- No published figure for profiles per machine and no published system requirements: they have not
  been measured, so no number is given.
- English only, in the app and on this site.
- No third-party ratings, reviews, awards or security certifications. If asked, the honest answer is
  that Liminal has none yet.
