Liminal vs AdsPower
Facts about AdsPower checked: September 2026
The short version
- AdsPower is the bigger toolkit: a local automation API on port 50325, cookie export, three operating systems, and a free plan of 2 profiles.
- Liminal is the free one without a profile cap: unlimited profiles on the free plan, real current Chromium, coherent fingerprints bound to the proxy, one window.
- If your work is scripted, take AdsPower — we have no API at all. If you need many isolated profiles and do the work by hand, Liminal costs nothing to try.

What AdsPower does that we do not
Not a courtesy: these are real reasons to choose them over us.
- A local API that automation tools already speak
- Their documented Local API runs on port 50325 and their own docs show configuring Selenium and Puppeteer against it. Liminal has nothing of the kind, so a scripted workflow simply cannot move here yet.source · 2026-09-26
- Cookies leave as easily as they arrive
- AdsPower exports and imports cookies in JSON, Netscape and Name=Value. That is what makes a profile portable, and it is exactly the half we have not built.source · 2026-09-26
- Three operating systems, and a way in from other products
- Windows, macOS and Linux, plus a transfer that pulls profiles from Dolphin Anty, Multilogin and GoLogin through an API token — though their own page says extensions, extension data, bookmarks and other local data do not come with it.source · 2026-09-26
Where Liminal is ahead
Fewer lines than theirs, and all of them are in the build you can download.
- The free plan has no profile cap
- Unlimited profiles, generated fingerprints, full isolation and proxy binding cost nothing, with no card and no trial clock. Our paid plans sell manual fingerprint control, sync, sharing and roles — never a higher number of profiles.
- Real Chromium, kept current
- The core is Chromium itself, not a stripped or aged engine: the TLS fingerprint, the web APIs and extension support are Chrome’s. The version each release is built on is in our changelog, and you can look it up on Chromium’s own dashboard.
- Fingerprints that agree with the proxy
- User-Agent, platform, screen, WebGL, Canvas, Audio, fonts, timezone and language are generated to match one another and the profile’s proxy, and a built-in validator flags a combination that does not add up.
- One window, no restarts
- Profiles launch and switch inside a single window without restarting the app, and several run at once. It is a small thing until you do it forty times a day.
Where Liminal is behind, without softening it
Both products beat us on these, and no wording changes that.
- No local automation API
- Liminal has no local API, no CLI and no MCP server, and nothing can drive a profile from Selenium, Puppeteer or Playwright. If your work is scripted, this is the line that decides it, and it decides against us.
- Sync carries the catalog, not the browser
- Profiles with their fingerprint settings, workspaces, folders, proxies, account cards and app settings travel between your machines. History, saved passwords, open tabs, cache and installed extensions never do.
- Cookies come in, not out
- You can import cookies into an account card as JSON or Netscape. Taking them back out of Liminal is not built yet, so a profile you build here cannot be lifted out the way it can be lifted out of the other two.
- Two platforms, and entry by invite
- macOS on Apple Silicon and Windows on ARM64 — no Linux build, no Intel Mac build, no mobile profiles. And Liminal is in closed beta: you leave an email and wait for an invite code, while both of them are a sign-up away.
What each side costs
Theirs is priced by profile count; ours is not priced by profile count at all.
- AdsPower: a free tier of 2 profiles, then by the profile
- Their pricing page states a Free plan with 2 profiles and 0 team members, a Professional plan sold in 10, 20, 50 and 100 profile sizes, a Business plan, an Enterprise plan for 5000+ profiles on request, and discounts of 15% for a quarter and 50% for a year.source · 2026-09-26
- Why no dollar figure of theirs is on this page
- The amounts are drawn by their page in the browser and are not in its text, so we cannot quote one and stand behind it. Open their page — the link is right here — and read the number yourself.source · 2026-09-26
- Liminal: no figure typed into this page either
- Our own prices are not written into the site: the pricing page reads the plan catalog when it loads and shows what comes back. The part that matters for a comparison is that the free plan has no profile cap and paid plans do not raise one.
Who should pick which
Two honest answers, and one of them is not us.
- Take AdsPower
- If anything in your work is scripted, if you need Linux, if you must be able to lift a profile out with its cookies, or if you are moving in from Dolphin Anty, Multilogin or GoLogin and want that done for you.
- Take Liminal
- If you run many profiles by hand and do not want to pay per profile, if you want the current Chromium rather than an aged fork, and if a coherent fingerprint bound to the proxy matters more to you than a toolkit around it.
